Digital Asset Management Customer De Telegraaf Joins MerlinOne at IFRA

Quincy, MA, October 3, 2011 - De Telegraaf, the leading newspaper group in Holland, has been using their Merlin digital asset management system and assignment management system as a mission-critical fault-tolerant production system for the last 6 years. This October, De Telegraaf will be on hand at IFRA to share their experiences using the Merlin DAM to help manage their more than 13 million digital assets.

Jan Mandemaker, De Telegraaf Technical Support, will be joining MerlinOne's Dave Sinclair, Director of Customer Services & Support, and David Breslauer, Sales & Marketing Support Manager, at the MerlinOne booth at IFRA. The show starts October 10 and runs through October 12 in Vienna, Austria. IFRA Expo, the world's largest trade exhibition for the news publishing industry, is expecting 287 exhibitors and an estimated 10,000 visitors from more than 80 countries to experience a review of new products and trends for newspapers and media production.

Dutch National newspaper De Telegraaf started out managing its Merlin system in-house and this year made the decision to move to MerlinOne's hosted facility. Merlin hosted digital asset management systems are a complete, outsourced, DAM system offered as Software-As-A-Service (SaaS). MerlinOne locates its systems in the United States in a top-notch co-location facility with high security, generator backups and connections to 4 Internet backbones and provides performance and uptime guarantees, and fault-tolerance.

The Merlin picture desk and digital asset management system allow the De Telegraaf staff to organize millions of stories, photos, pages and multimedia files using fast, precise searching with easy and flexible workflows. Merlin's industry-leading video search technology allows users to actually search for words spoken in the audio tracts. Merlin integrates tightly with De Telegraaf's CCi production system.

Merlin manages all wire and local images for daily production. This provides the staff with a single centralized location for its data. MerlinOne also hosts the Trax assignment management and workflow system. This system supports photo, video, story, audio, graphics, scanning and research assignments. Trax integrates tightly with Merlin, adding rights management, scheduling, contact information and more.

MerlinOne has an easy-to-use web browser client that allows end users to easily locate stories, photos and pages in seconds. For the more demanding or administrative users, Merlin offers the powerful cross-platform M5 client.

MerlinOne will be participating at IFRA for the first time and will be in the Open Lounge Area of the exhibit floor.
