MerlinOne Adds Even More Features to the New M5 Client

Quincy, MA, August 25, 2011 - Following rave reviews after its initial release 3 months ago, the Merlin 5 client continues to get even better! In addition to a host of enhancements that improve performance, the M5 digital asset management client has some great new features that were recommended by users.

The MerlinOne philosophy centers on listening to our customers, so when our customers asked for a detached editor to facilitate cropping (crop in a separate window), MerlinOne delivered. The new version of the Merlin 5 rich client (officially it is 5.0.8) includes an external or detachable window for image cropping, and it is opened using a simple keyboard shortcut (ctrl+k).

Another significant change is improved performance in batch operations. Whether it is a batch publish, batch edit (Edit Multiple) or a find and replace operation, the M5.0.8 client now allows users to select thousands of records and with dramatic speed, enhances them all simultaneously.

M5.0.8 users can also set a default login search, so that relevant content is displayed right from launching the application. Users interested only in a single topic or type of content are taken directly to where they want to be, as soon as the Merlin digital asset management system launches!

Other M5.0.8 improvements include:

  • Support for Subjects (Server-defined searches for all users — for example, the last seven days with important categories within each day).
  • Improved Project Administration Tools (allows easier management of users’ collections — for example, create a list of important users to have quick access to their private projects).
  • Improved Trax assignment management integration (view photographer information from within the M5 client).

In short, the new Merlin 5 client runs faster and provides users with even better tools to work more efficiently.
