The Humane Society of the United States Picks MerlinOne to Manage its Images and Photo Shoots

Quincy, MA, March 16, 2009 - The Humane Society of The United States has implemented the Merlin Digital Asset Management System to handle their images and organize their photo assignments. The hosted digital asset management system is a fully redundant system located at MerlinOne's Boston co-location facility.

The Humane Society of the United States began researching digital asset management systems in early 2008. "As an organization that relies heavily on photographs, we were in need of a way to archive our thousands of images, and keep those images at the fingertips of our staff. We were also in need of a system that would streamline our many photo requests and assignments," says Michelle Riley, the Photo Editor of Publications for The HSUS.

"MerlinOne came out on top after careful consideration of eight other companies. We found that the marriage between both the Merlin system and the Trax assignment management system would allow us to do exactly what we needed at an affordable price."

Merlin is a complete picture desk and digital asset management system that allows users to organize millions of photos and other multimedia files using fast, precise searching with easy and flexible workflows. Access to Merlin is via thick or web clients.

The Trax assignment management system will be used to initiate and manage photo requests, manage staff and freelance workloads, manage usage rights and track deadlines. As photos are uploaded to Merlin, they are linked to the assignment and workflow status is automatically updated.
